Spider Web

Free Verse

Silver silk woven with care and caution,
For little moths, a deadly coffin.
The danger does not show itself often,
And the hunter often stays forgotten.

The world works a bit like a spider web,
The strong survive,
The weak will die.
And all you do is to fit in their picture of society.

Are you a moth, they're asking me,
Because they want me one to be,
A moth in a spider web,
Controlled like a puppet,
But I'm not.

I'm not a moth, I'm not a puppet,
They're not able to control my actions.
I'm the crow in a house full of doves,
But they'll never stop me from doing what I love.

I'm not a spider either,
I don't hunt, I don't kill, to get what I want,
I don't need what they want,
I don't care what they hunt.

I just need my paper and pen,
To write, to write, to write.
To give the thoughts a place to be,
And me a place to hide.
